Welcome to Ball Camp’s Youth Ministry!
Life in middle school and high school can be rocky times for both students and families. As a youth group we walk together through these awkward and difficult years supporting each other and discovering more about God along the way. If you are looking for a place to learn about God, be part of a church family, and experience life with a bunch of crazy teenagers, we invite you to give us a try.
Regular Weekly Schedule
9:45 a.m. Sunday School
10:55 a.m. The Road Contemporary Worship Service

Our theme verse for the group is John 3:30. “He must become greater; I must become less.”
What is the goal of the youth ministry?
The goal of the Ball Camp Baptist Church Youth Ministry is to provide opportunities for youth to:
Connect with God in a personal way.
Connect with their peers, church, and community.
Connect with God and each other in a safe, encouraging environment.
What type of leadership is provided for the youth group?
We have loving teachers and volunteers who care about what is going on in the lives of teenagers and do their best to be available to any youth who might need someone to listen.
What goes on during the Sunday School time?
Sunday School begins with all ages meeting together for a time of announcements and prayer. Some weeks food shows up. Middle School and High School classes are held separately.
What goes on during Youth on Wednesday nights?
Our time together on Wednesday nights begin with sharing of announcements and talking about our week. We then study either books/stories in the Bible or topics that are related to our current life situations.
What does the group do to help others?
Our group is very committed to missions. In addition to the one large Summer Mission Trip we also participate in other activities on a regular basis. We partner with Lost Sheep Ministries and Family Promise of Knoxville to assist the homeless community of Knoxville. We also reach out to those in our community in other ways as opportunities present themselves.
What schools are represented in the youth group?
While most students in the group attend Karns and Hardin Valley High School and Karns Middle School there are quite a few other schools represented. We have had students from Gibbs High School, Powell High School, Bearden High School, Farragut High School and from homeschooling. We also have had middle schoolers from Oak Ridge, Cedar Bluff Middle and Holston Middle.
What ages are included in the youth ministry?
Our youth ministry is for students in grades 6-12.
Where do the youth meet for Sunday School?
Sunday School for youth is held in the youth suite which is directly underneath the sanctuary.
Where do the youth meet for Youth Gathering on Wednesday night?
The youth meet in the Youth Suite except on special weeks when other events are scheduled.
What types of other activities are available for youth?
In addition to the regular weekly schedule there are many other opportunities for our youth to be together. Retreats, trips, hang outs, meals, and lots of other events are scheduled throughout the year. To find out about what events are coming up, check out the calendar or call the office.
What if someone can’t afford to go on a trip?
Money should never be a reason for a student to stay home from a trip. Our staff is always available to talk with you about how the trip can be made possible.
It is our goal to equip parents to handle any situation with their child that arises. Adolescence is a tough time for both parents and for youth. Please do not hesitate to talk to us if you have an issue that is troubling to you.
We have an on-going relationship with Ebenezer Counseling Services. There are some issues that need more help than we can provide and we feel as though they provide quality services. You can read more about their services on their website.
There are many things about your child that you may not understand. The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding tries to tackle some of these issues. Their website has articles and other helpful things so that you might be able to know more about that weird creature that lives in your house.
If you have questions that are not answered on this site or need help with an issue please contact us. Teenage years can be one of the most rewarding times in your life but also the most stressful. We count it as a privilege to walk with you and your child during this time.
